Death to Potter?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is out today. Couldn't get the copy of the book today because they only sell it to those who pre-book them only. How rude.

Many questions needs to be answered in this highly anticipated final book. I for one is looking forward on how it will all end.

Will Harry Potter die? I'm in the school of thought that Rowling will end Potter's life in this final book, much like how Agatha Christie killed another of my favourite character, Hercule Poirot. Killing Potter will avoid other author to write a sequel of your book when you're dead (like how a sequel of Gone With The Wind came out).

On the true nature of Snape's action? Is he good or is he bad? Hmm... i surely think he is bad... He did after all killed Dumbledore! Some might not think so.

What do you think? Will Harry die? Is Snape bad? Did you pre-book the book? Read it already? No spoilers please...

The Delegator

tr.v. (-gāt') del·e·gat·ed, del·e·gat·ing, del·e·gates
- To authorize and send (another person) as one's representative.
- To commit or entrust to another: delegate a task to a subordinate.
- Law: To appoint (one's debtor) as a debtor to one's creditor in place of oneself.

I have a delegator in the office. He looves to delegate most, well - almost all - of his work to everyone in the office. Sometimes I wonder what he does everyday.

Today, while I was in training in town, I got a call from office and the delegator said "Apsal gi training? Banyak keje kat ofis ni" and asked me to return to office if the training 'tak penting'. Which translates "Who's gonna do my work?". Before I left for the weekend, I have finished all of MY work that are within my control, so there should be no question me leaving for the training. Totally ruined my day.

So, do you have a delegator in your office? Do you usually ignore phone calls from office when on training or holiday? Should I?

What did I do after two weekends of travelling? Nothing.

I'm so amazed that the weekend went by so fast even though I did basically nothing.

Finales

All of my favourite TV shows has ended their current seasons. Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives...
My favourite of favourite Finale is Lost. The finale has met (or possibly exceeded) my expectations. It totaly lived up to it's hype. The best part has got to be the last three minutes and got my jaw dropped and i found myself cursing. Those who watched it will know what i mean. It has changed the way the coming episodes will be told. It's good (?) to know that the show will end in 2010 with three more seasons of 16 episodes each. Long time? I don't think so. It's like what the producer said, "when we were reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets somewhere in the mid 90's and they say that the series will end in 2007, people go 'what?!' "
On the opposite side, i found Heroes finale to be somewhat dissapointing. When i read that the producers were going on and on about how explosive and great the finale will be; so did my expectations. But, the finale with ciput action scenes, made me go - 'that's it??'. But i am still watching the second season though.
Let's sum up what has happened so far:

1. TA is almost over (Hurrah!)
2. I'm out of credit card debt (Hurrah!)
3. I have more than 2 weeks of off-in-lieu (Hurrah!)
4. I scratched and dented my beloved car at work (Totally my fault)
5. Some motorcycle rider langgar my bumper and dislocated it a bit (Totally not my fault)
6. Gained all my weight back during TA (I'm back on diet... hehe)

Can't wait for my trips to Vietnam, Kluang/JB and possibly Kuching...

The most disgusting thing i enjoy

Pore packs. I enjoy looking at the dirt on the nose strip which was on my nose. I would study it and look at it closely for several minutes. I would find satisfaction if there are large dirt on the nose strip which clogged my pores for a long time. It's the most disgusting thing i enjoy.

Daddy Cool

Oh my. I'm ashamed to admit this and i'm still amazed by the fact that it happened.

I was driving back from KL with me mom and Aweng in the car and me mom told a story which i long forgot. Karma Chameleon was on, and she asked "is this Boney M?"

"erm... no." i said.

"Do you remember how you used to love Boney M when you were small?"

"OMG. I remember now."

Then, she told the story of how i would force the whole family to listen to Boney M's cassette during the journey from Klang to Kemaman... over and over again (and the journey at that time would last about 7 hours). I would mengamuk if anybody would want to turn it off or change the cassette.

So, for old time sake:

Where do we go?

I'm excited. Finally, a planned vacation (with other people) is about to materialise. Eventhough it's 4 months away, i can't hardly wait for the time to come. At that time, the dreadful Turnaround will be over and i will be able to enjoy myself.

So, 6 (maybe 8) of us decided to go to Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City - for our getaway. We took the advantage of the MAS travel fair to get cheap tickets. After many phone calls (some people just can't get their friend's name right) to MAS, we finally can get our tickets. Unfortunately, we can't get our tickets in Kuantan because MAS's office in Kuantan in closed (WTF right?). And the deadline to get the tickets is 13th February. Luckily, Salma is in KL this weekend. So people in Kuantan, listen up - if you purchase a Golden Holidays package, you can only get the tickets and the Golden Holidays vouchers in KL.

So i've been surfing on where to go in Vietnam. There are some interesting places. You might want to check them out here.

So what do you think? Where should we go in Vietnam? Will the War Remnants Museum be scary? Why is MAS so stupid to close the Kuantan office? How do you actually spell Hema's name?

Can't Take That Way

Someone said i should "change" and be more positive / optimistic. Hmmm... maybe this song will help:

They can say anything they want to say
Try to bring me down
But I will not allow
Anyone to succeed
Hanging clouds over me
And they can try hard to make me feel
That I don't matter at all
But I refuse to falter
In what I believe
Or lose faith in my dreams

CHORUS:
'Cause there's a light in me
That shines brightly
They can try
But they can't take that away from me
From me

They can do anything they want to you
lf you let them in
But they won't ever win
If you cling to your pride
And just push them aside
See
I have learned there's an inner peace I own
Something in my soul
That they cannot possess
So I won't be afraid
And darkness will fade

'Cause there's a light in me
That shines brightly
They can try
But they can't take that away from me

No
They can't take this
Precious love
l'll always have inside me
Certainly the Lord will guide me
Where I need to go

They can say anything they want to say
Try to break me down
But 1 won't face the ground
I will rise steadily
Sailing out of their reach

Oh Lord
They do try hard to make me feel
That I don't matter at all
But I refuse to falter
In what I believe
Or lose faith in my dreams

'Cause there's a light in me that shines brightly
They can try
But they can't take that away from me
From me

Ode to My Family

I was listening to this song in my car a few days ago and as i was singing along, i finally got the lyrics. After listening to this song since 1994, i finally understood what Dolores O'Riordan was singing about. And i can totally relate now. This song has always been my favourite from the No Need to Argue album.

I especially like the part "Unhappiness, where’s when I was young"... The video is nice too. Enjoy

Ode to My Family

Understand the things I say
Don’t turn away from me
Cause I spent half my life out there
You wouldn’t disagree
D’you see me, d’you see
Do you like me, do you like me standing there
D’you notice, d’you know
Do you see me, do you see me
Does anyone care

Unhappiness, where’s when I was young
And we didn’t give a damn
’cause we were raised
To see life as a fun and take it if we can
My mother, my mother she hold me
Did she hold me, when I was out there
My father, my father, he liked me
Ol he liked me, does anyone care

Understand what I’ve become
It wasn’t my design
And people everywhere think
Something better than I am
But I miss you, I miss
’cause I liked it, I liked it
When I was out there
D’you know this, d’you know
You did not find me, you did not find
Does anyone care

Unhappiness was when I was young
And we didn’t give a damn
’cause we were raised
To see life as fun and take it if we can
My mother, my mother she hold me
Did she hold me, when I was out there
My father, my father, he liked me
Ol he liked me, does anyone care

Does anyone care

My housemates and I went to buy houses last weekend (it's amazing how i can it so casually, like buying a pair of socks). I sort of decided that in a few days and i believe can be considered as an impulse purchase of mine even though it's gonna bring me back in the state of tak dok seng for the next couple of years. I keep telling myself it's an investment, it's an investment, it's an investment...

Like any other purchases of mine, i'm excited about it. Like any other purchases of mine, i hope i don't get bored with it quickly. Like any other purchases of mine, i hope i can fully justify it(some how or another).

These days, during my free time and during office hours, i keep visualising how i'm gonna decorate it. I now have a few options on the colour scheme, types of bed, sofa and such. If the budget allows, of course.

My friend said, "Wow. You've moved on with your life." Have I? Doesn't feel like it though.

What do you think? Do you think i made a right decision in buying a house? Is apple green a horrible colour for a wall?

Lost Anatomy

After Isham had a Lost marathon last weekend, a theory of my own came up on how Lost and Grey's Anatomy are related. Yup, i think the two shows are related. (I posted before on how people think Lost and Alias are related). Since both shows are on ABC, there could be a relation. The reason that got me thinking is, the main characters are Jack Shepherd and Derek Shepherd. Umm.. hello? Are they related? Are they the same person? I believe they are the same person. Both are doctors. Both surgeons. Both were married. Both divorced. Both in love with Meredith... well, one is in love with Kate; but the point is they're in love.

Next week: Mr Eko and Dr Preston is the same person!

So what do you think? Is Derek and Jack the same person? How did Derek end up on that island? Will we ever see Sandra Oh on Lost?

Song of the Week: Waiting On The World To Change by John Mayer

Beautiful song with deep lyrics. Very nice! Great success! Have a listen. What do you think?

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing
There's no way we ever could
Now we see everything is going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Its hard to be persistant
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would've never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on the door
When you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cuz when when the only information ooohhh,
They can bend it all they want

So while we're waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
It's not that we don't care
We just know that the party's there
So we keep waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change

We're still waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population

So we keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Know we keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting (waiting)
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change
Waiting on the world to change.

Resolutions and denial

First of all, happy new year people! Hope that 2006 has brought fulfillment and joy to you as it did for me. I am so happy this year ended with a bang.

Whatever. Enough with positivism. Anyways, How was your year? Achieved all of your goals and last year's resolutions? I for one, have decided that i no longer believe in New Year resolutions. I mean what's the point? My resolutions are always things that i want and therefore always unachievable. The things that i want to happen always end up the opposite.

However, for the sake of making resolutions as everyone has a list of them, i will now list down my resolutions:
  1. I will have a lousy year

  2. I want my body to get fatter and my hair thinner

  3. I will never ever buy an iPod video

  4. I will remain in a state of tak dok seng and in debt

  5. I will drag myself to work every morning, feel bad about my job and never advance in my career

  6. Be a doormat

There. That's enough i think. I'm sure i can achieve most of them if not all and feel good about myself next year. Cheers.
